Welcome to UMA Academy Family for the year 2017. I am confident that you all had an enjoyable summer in the spirit of the blessed Month of Ramadan and are excited to face this New Year. Since UMA's mission statement is “Quality Education and Personal Excellence” we strive daily to reflect on it. While focusing on how the Academy teaches students the basic principles of Islam to strengthen their faith and identity.
In our efforts to continue maintaining high standards of excellence, we rely on the support of parents/guardians and students. This requires giving a higher priority to the concept of accountability. We all must be held accountable for the important role we play in educating the next generation. UMA is a wonderful Academy where all staff members understand the sacrifice they must make to help students succeed. I believe that all students, parents, teachers, administrators, board members and the community at large must join in assuming responsibility for students' success. We are working in the Academy to ensure that our expectations for learning and behavior are consistent. The teachers in each of the levels work closely together to ensure consistency in expectations. Here at UMA Academy, we focus on using positive and friendly language such as saying, “Assalamu Alaikum, Jazakallahu Khair, Masha-Allah, Please, Thank you, Work Hard, Try Your Best and Safety First.” for motivating our learning and reminding students of our expectations. The children know that every adult in the school is responsible for every child and that we all need to treat one another with dignity and respect. All of our efforts will lead to learning opportunities that are current, challenging, relevant, and meaningful for our children.
We encourage you to become involved in our Parent Committee Members and Positive relationship-building with our students, families, community, and teachers.We continue promoting high expectations, in Qur’an reading, Islamic Studies and Arabic Language.
We Promote, model, and encourage good character, leadership, problem-solving abilities, mutual respect, social responsibility and good work habits .

1- Qur’an Program
UMA Academy provides a comprehensive Qur’an curriculum that includes proper recitation skills, memorization skills, as well as meaningful lessons learned from respective chapters of the Qur’an. The main goal of this program is to help students adapt Islam as a way of life.

2-Islamic Studies
UMA Academy education program mainly focuses on two dimensions: individual and social development. The individual development dimension, aims to prepare students to lead a positive and good life as adults in the world around them, as well as to achieve positive rewards in the hereafter. On the social dimension, education could be a tool to preserve a community’s cultural heritage and a means for social change

3-Arabic Language
At UMA Academy we are blessed with an amazing staff led by Imam Kamaludiin Mustafa Scholar, who has a vast wealth of academic experience developing an even better Arabic as a second language program at UMA Academy that fits our student populations needs and parent expectations. Our dedicated and qualified Arabic teachers provide a quality education that prepares our students to speak, read, write and understand the Arabic language. Below is a detailed explanation regarding our approach to teaching Arabic as a second language.
Our primary objective in teaching Arabic as a Second language at UMA Academy is to enable students to communicate with verbal and written competence in Arabic according to their respective levels. The student is moved gradually from:
Level 1 Pre- begginer .
Level 2 Beginner
Level 3 Pre-Intermediate
Level 4 Intermediate
Level 5 Pre- Advanced
Level 6 Advanced
This objective through the four basic of language acquiring skills:
1-listening Skills
2- speakingSkills
3- reading Skills
4- writing Skills
